99999 aims at uniting the people of the
world to think and act as one. Imagine if everybody in the world could
just turn off the power for everything – from light bulbs to computers
– for 9 minutes, just 9 minutes, all at the same time. If all the
people of the world joined their hands to turn off “the switch” at 9
p.m. on the 9th day of the 9th month in this year, 2009, it would not
only be an awesome way to save an incredible amount of power but also
an ode to the environment.
