Creed to Explore "Life, Love, Loss" on New Album, 'Full Circle'
Creed kicked off their comeback tour last night, and they’re already looking ahead to their first studio album since 2001’s Weathered – at Thursday’s show, they played “Overcome,” the first single from Full Circle, which is set for an October release.
Rolling Stone spoke with lead singer Scott Stapp to get an idea about what to expect from the new record. “It’s very unique,” Stapp said of the Howard Benson-produced effort. “Very fresh. It’s got some of the heaviest rock tracks we’ve ever done” but also features “some slower songs – straight-up-rock kind of songs that you can’t really call a ballad.” According to the frontman, the album is finished, excepting for mixing, and that the lyrics will cover “varied” topics: “It’s about my experiences,” he said. “It’s about life, love, growing up, loss.”
Like Limp Bizkit, Blink-182 and Stone Temple Pilots, Creed recently reunited for a lucrative tour, but each band is also hoping that an in-the-works new album will extend their legacy well into the next decade. In each case, though, the tour focused on past hits – the unanswered question is whether fans will as easily embrace new work as they did the old favorites.Just Wanted to share this great news with U all.....heres a link to the original post by By Tim Grierson.
